You don't need to spend an eternity making spreadsheets or emailing reminders anymore. Hit the ground running with Articleman.
From keeping track of individual posts and projects to drafting an entire magazine or video series, Articleman helps with a lot. It can also give you insights on how to further optimize your workloads and balance out work among your team.
In a large team, chasing down every single member and giving them a list of what they have to do is a pain. Articleman can manage all of your tasks, and it will create personalized task lists for every single person so you don't have to.
When someone finishes a task, Articleman can automatically let the next person in line know and add it to their to-do list, so you can get things out quicker without constantly asking people for their progress.
Articleman takes care of keeping all of your projects, whether they're spreads, articles or essays, in context. If you want to use a spreadsheet to manage your program, you can! If you want to get rid of your spreadsheets, feel free. Articleman will take care of it without any fuss, ensuring that no matter where you look the information will be up to date.
Articleman can automatically share Docs with all relevant collaborators, right as they paste in the link, so you can avoid the "Hi, please share this Google Doc, I do not have access" email that managers hate. If you use a shared drive, it can even go look for the item itself (if they didn't add it themself) and suggest it to you!
Part of Articleman for Student Media:
Requiring prior admin review of published materials sucks, and everyone knows it. But why not lessen the blow? Avoid all the email back-and-forth with your administrators and just send them one link. From there, they can see everything they need to and check articles off as they read them, taking the lead time from days to an hour or two. They can even give feedback from right within the page.
Want first-class integration with SNOSites (a popular student journalism hosting service) or any other WordPress install? With two minutes of setup, you can automatically create posts on your site for every single item in your sheet, and even autofill author info and content, so all you have to do is look over it and click "publish."
Articleman is fully translatable, meaning any volunteer fluent enough in any language can translate it without a lot of effort. Then, in the next update to Articleman, that effort can be passed on to you at no cost.
Articleman is also designed from the ground up to be accessible. From extremely legible fonts and intuitive design to total compliance with web accessibility guidelines, everyone on your staff should be able to use Articleman without a hitch.
There is no 'Accessibility Mode,' because we believe that having a usable product should be the default and only option. It's not like having the app always accessible makes it slower or uglier, either.
We believe journalism should be diverse.
For a pretty big amount of journalists, Articleman with default settings is enough to start flying through their processes and optimizing everything in sight. But for the innovators, for the people who want to squeeze every drop of potential out of Articleman, we've got you covered too.
Articleman is made up of complex components behind the scenes, and the regular interface obscures a lot of that complexity in favor of a more seamless user experience. But if you want to crank everything to the max, optimize workflows like a boss, and configure everything just how you like it, the app can step back and let you, the user, set and run things just how you like them. From configuring algorithms to suit your team to disabling unused features, Articleman gives you full control.
Our product is built to be extended. The entire app is written in TypeScript and the frontend uses SvelteKit, one of the most popular JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
We're open-source under the AGPL 3.0 license. While we recognize that the AGPL is not a permissive license, it serves everyone's interests in the best way possible. And it means that you can feel safe building on our product, because you have an irrevocable license to our code.
For those who don't know what the AGPL is, it is a license that allows anyone to use a piece of software, and for anyone to see the code behind that software, no matter what. That means users of an unmodified copy of Articleman can see code that we wrote, and users of a copy of Articleman modified by someone else can see their code, too. It's a fundamental requirement of the license that everyone who uses the product can view the code.
We're 100% open source, without any proprietary sections of our codebase. While we do sell subscriptions, you can run our Pro services on your own server without paying us a dime if you don't want to. Our Insights feature doesn't use AI. Instead it uses carefully tuned algorithms created specifically to help content teams with their work. By capturing various metrics about your program over a period of time, Articleman's algorithms can fine-tune your operations without a lot of training.
Articleman is a blue linden software product.
